BlueTie Hits Industry-Leading Milestone for Small Business Customer Acquisition
Sign-Ups for BlueTie's Web-based Application Exceed 1,200 a Day, 20% Faster Than Google Apps
ROCHESTER, N.Y., August 20, 2007 — BlueTie, Inc. (www.bluetie.com), the first company to offer hosted e-mail and calendaring integrated with the Web's most useful services, today announced a significant milestone with 1,200 new businesses signing up daily for BlueTie Free e-mail solutions. To satisfy market demands of businesses with 20 employees or less, BlueTie Free launched in October 2006 and has signed up more than 50,000 small businesses.
"Small businesses are moving to BlueTie in record numbers, demonstrating our ability to win the trust of companies worldwide," said David Koretz, president and CEO of BlueTie. "BlueTie's branded service, as well as our private-labeled ISP services, are experiencing enormous growth."
BlueTie Free is a Web-based application that features shared contacts and files, spam and virus protection for e-mail, domain support, 5GB of storage per user, and up to 20 users per business customer. It is available on the company's Web site and is also distributed via leading Internet service provider (ISP) partners throughout the world, who white-label the BlueTie solution to provide their customers with a more robust e-mail and calendaring application. Current worldwide ISP partners include Unwired (Australia), USA Datanet (U.S.), Islanet (Puerto Rico), Navigo (Canada), and Unwired (Fiji).
ISPs leverage BlueTie's unique Featuretisements monetization model, which integrates useful services like travel planning, e-mail marketing, and Web search into the BlueTie solution to make it easy to manage and complete personal and business tasks directly from the e-mail. Amidst concerns about privacy on the Web, BlueTie bypasses traditional online advertising methods that rely on gathering user data to monetize free e-mail applications. Featuretisements are available on all BlueTie products, including white label offerings. Additional planned offerings include blog publishing, Internet telephony, and Web conferencing.
